[size=13.3333px]January 25, 2017

[size=13.3333px]YZ Cnc Chandra observing window delayed

[size=13.3333px]The beginning of the observing window for the Chandra TOO
[size=13.3333px]observations of the SU UMa-type dwarf nova YZ Cnc that are the
[size=13.3333px]focus of AAVSO Alert Notice 565 and AAVSO Special Notice #427
[size=13.3333px]([size=13.3333px]https://www.aavso.org/aavso-special-notice-427[size=13.3333px]) has been delayed.

[size=13.3333px]Principal Investigator Dr. Christian Knigge (University of
[size=13.3333px]Southampton) informs us that Chandra Mission Planning has informed
[size=13.3333px]him that the beginning of the Chandra-observable window for YZ Cnc
[size=13.3333px]has been delayed until 2017 February 5.

[size=13.3333px]This means that the dense coverage requested earlier for YZ Cnc
[size=13.3333px]does not need to begin until February 2. At that time, please
[size=13.3333px]resume observing YZ Cnc closely (one to a few times, widely spaced,
[size=13.3333px]per night) until further notice, possibly through the end of the
[size=13.3333px]observing season. Your observations will be used to decide when to
[size=13.3333px]trigger the TOO observations, so they are crucial.

[size=13.3333px]As mentioned in the earlier notices, YZ Cnc has normal outbursts
[size=13.3333px]about every 7-10 days, and superoutbursts about every 100-110 days.
[size=13.3333px]The astronomers are planning to use a superoutburst to trigger the
[size=13.3333px]TOO observations.

[size=13.3333px]Observers will be informed when the Chandra observations have been
[size=13.3333px]carried out and the campaign ends. Visual and V or CV band
[size=13.3333px]observations are requested; other bands are welcome but are not
[size=13.3333px]essential. Please report your observations to the AAVSO via WebObs
[size=13.3333px]as soon after you make them as possible, especially if you see YZ
[size=13.3333px]Cnc at visual magnitude 13.8 or brighter. Typical normal outbursts
[size=13.3333px]reach visual magnitude ~12.0, and superoutbursts ~11.0-11.3. In
[size=13.3333px]recent years at minimum YZ Cnc has been ~14.6-14.8.

[size=13.3333px]Coordinates (2000.0):  R.A. 08 10 56.65   Dec. +28 08 33.2

[size=13.3333px]Charts: Charts with a comparison star sequence for YZ Cnc may be
[size=13.3333px]created using the AAVSO Variable Star Plotter (VSP).

[size=13.3333px]Please submit observations to the AAVSO International Database
[size=13.3333px]using the name YZ CNC.

[size=13.3333px]This campaign is being monitored on the AAVSO Observing Campaigns
[size=13.3333px]webpage at [size=13.3333px]https://www.aavso.org/observing-campaigns[size=13.3333px] and is being
[size=13.3333px]followed on the Campaigns and Observation Reports Forum at
[size=13.3333px]https://www.aavso.org/content/yz-cnc-observing-campaign[size=13.3333px].
