AAVSO Special Notice #401 April 3, 2015
AM Her NuSTAR observations April 5
Dr. Axel Schwope (Leibniz Institute for AstrophysicsPotsdam, Germany) informs us that the NuSTAR X-ray observations ofAM Her will take place on
2015 April 5 15:35UTC - April 6 19:15 UTC
These NuSTAR observations overlap with the XMM-Newtonobservations scheduled for April 6.
Filtered photometry with standard filter (BVRI) isrequested using the cadence given in Alert Notice 517.
The question has been asked whether visual observationsare requested for this campaign. They would be helpful in order to know whetherAM Her is in its high or low state. However, the behavioral information theastronomers need for more detailed correlation with the x-ray observationsrequires the higher precision of photometry with S/N~10.
