Got only a C5, taken at f/20, by a DBK 21AF04.AS...

It's a painful story to take this shot, the fool (yes, fool, not full) story can be found here:

This is my second attempt, the first total failure attempt can be found here:

I forgot to use the UV/IR blocker...

Hi Oldfield,
I don't think you need the IR blocker. However, that may be the cause of the abnormal color balance of your images. I'm not quite sure.
I'm still using the cheap Philips ToUCam. Lately I found that if I don't adjust the camera's color balance, Mars appears more natural. If I use the auto adjust button, Mars would simply turn pale because there isn't an IR filter.
Since your images look quite bright, why don't you try using a low power eyepiece for projection instead of using a barlow?

Hi Mr. Yan,

Nice to hear your comment, from my very limited experience, Mars is the only one which really needs an IR/UV block.

The color of this Mars shot is strange because my notebook battery is running out, I have not enough time to fine tune it, automatic color balance does not work since Mars is too small with respect to the screen.

Yes, I was overexposing for the same reason (battery issue).

Oldfield
