CO2 level changes yearly

有同學問我點解地球CO2 level 一年升一年降，再升又降，升降交替
是何原因？

Easy. The Northern Hemisphere has more land mass (and thus more three) than the Southern Hemisphere, so every year in our Northern Hemisphere summer, the CO2 level will decrease a little bit, but in our winter time it will increase again.

大氣中的 CO2  濃度是有季節性起伏的，曲線像鋸齒狀 (見網頁的圖)，夏季樹木生長較多使 CO2 濃度減少，冬季則相反，所以不能單從過去幾個月升幅就代表全年平均增加率，不過從整體統計而言 (過去 50 年數據) ，CO2 濃度總是有增無減，現在已超過至 400 ppm ，破盡紀錄，限制 CO2 排放是急不容緩了。
