Dear Andy,

Are you still shooting this image unguided like your previously posted Rosette Nebula?  Which CCD camera did you use?  May I ask why you only take 300s in Ha?  Why not taking a 600s exposure on Ha if you can autoguide or self-guide?

I am using color camera of Starlight Xpress and EM200.  The maximum unguided exposure I can have is not more than 300s with proper polar alignment.  Does this sound normal to you?

I did unguided images now because I have a bit of a trouble calibrating my autoguiding with EM200 by Maxim DL ("Star moves < 5 pixel in x").  I also getting over +/- 1.0 pixel deviation when autoguiding so I am trying to manually tune up the advanced setting of the Guide Tab in Maxim DL in order to fix this problem.  Any suggestions?

I also do not know how to connect Maxim DL and The Sky to ASCOM POTH to allow both softwares (Maxim DL and The Sky) to talk to EM200 at the same time.  Any directions for me?

The next thing after learning how to setting up the scopes and equipments is to polish up my image processing skill before I can post any images up here in the forum.

For the shots under 480s I only make unguided exposures.

Last night was too windy therefore I limited my exposures to 300s only, nevertheless a little star elongation could still be seen.

Regarding autoguide, what are your guide and imaging scopes? What guider and CCD do you use? You need to at least match the image scales in order to guide accurately.

Regarding the PC connections, you should use two different cables for GOTO and autoguide. Only GOTO utilizes ASCOM to control the mount via SKY6, while the guideport is connected via a ST4 interface either on the CCD guider output (if any) or a commercially available one such as the shoestrings' USB.
