For the shots under 480s I only make unguided exposures.
Last night was too windy therefore I limited my exposures to 300s only, nevertheless a little star elongation could still be seen.
Regarding autoguide, what are your guide and imaging scopes? What guider and CCD do you use? You need to at least match the image scales in order to guide accurately.
Regarding the PC connections, you should use two different cables for GOTO and autoguide. Only GOTO utilizes ASCOM to control the mount via SKY6, while the guideport is connected via a ST4 interface either on the CCD guider output (if any) or a commercially available one such as the shoestrings' USB.
