What nebula or cluster can I see by a 10x50 binocular?

I can only use my 10x50 binocular to see M42. What else can I see? May be I am too green to identify them even I got a $19 star atlas...

Hi Willis,

From my very limited knowledge, you actually can see a lot of deep sky objects with the aid of 10X50 binoculars.

Winter:M42 Orion Nebula,M45 Pleiades, M41 an open cluster,M36,M37,M38 open clusters in Auriga.....There should be more

P.S. Do your "$19 star atlas" means the fluorence plainsphere (香港夜光旋轉星圖) that is publish by us?

   Thanks for ur informative reply. According to ur information, I should be able to see more. I guess the main problem is that I am inexperience to figure them out from the sky. This is not due to the instrucment's limitation. I will try again later!! BTW, I am using 香港旋轉星圖, not 香港夜光旋轉星圖. It was published by 香港天文學會.

Dear Willis,
I heard that some members will bring C8, the society will bring the 8.5" refractor. I"ll bring a 4.5" reflector.

試試找機會去水口, 或者萬宜東壩等地方, 你就可以睇倒更多! :-)

遇著天氣好, 成天都係 deep sky, 你睇倒矇查查, 一隊支鏡過去, 即刻就睇倒, 唔使 map

Really!  But I don't know how to go to 水口? It would be nice if group activity can be organized.

It's quite easy to get there, just take a bus from Tung Chung and be prepared to walk around 15-20 minutes.

Dear Oldfield,
  Thanks for telling. But "在東涌坐 11 號巴士中途下車，步行約二十至三十分鐘可達觀星地點", I don't know where is "中途下車"? If I tell the bus driver I want to do stargazing in 水口, do u think he/she will know where to drop me?
