Leavitt - An forgotten woman in astronomy

明年的 IYA2009，大家或許聽到一些熟識科學家的名字 --- 伽利略、牛頓、哈勃 ......
但是他們的研究成果，背後還有一斑工作者默默地為科研而獻出一生。勒維特女仕是其中最值得表揚的一位。下星期五 (Dec 12)是她逝世紀念日，我特為此簡單介紹這張 1891 年的歷史照片。有機會再探討她在天文學上的貢獻和「造父變星」的意義。

Sorry for the late reply. Nowadays in many universities, there are slightly more fenale students than male students!

Apart for undergraduates, the number of female post-graduate students is also increasing even in the field of science.
