使用Lasar Pointer 時，請不要指向人及其他動物的眼睛，尤其當Lasar指向玻璃或望遠鏡身，光束會反射到其他方向，同樣對眼睛有傷害

I also suggest not to use a new/bright version laser(>5mw) as a screen pointer.

Some photo from internet show some bright green laser brough from china(~500-1000) can burn a hole into a plastic bag in a few second.

Agree with the previous statement, if the expected / actual situation is NOT suitable for laser pointer, just do not bring it / hide it.

When we turn back the clock, we use MagLit (which is another kind of hammer if abused), which is already annoying when some others nearby is taking long-time exposure photos.

Why can't we use the old methods like fist / finger angular width, clock-time sense of direction, NESW sense of direction, etc. to lead those newbies?  Laser pointer is a fast way to index the sky, but not a good way.

Those old but working ways are not convenient, but themselves consist something funny to be learnt already.  My 2 cents.

i agree
ppl rarely use these method now
althrough only few bright stars on hk sky, ppl rely on laser.
only 1/2 objects can be found in a direction, we can just tell ppl the direction
i think it may be a culture problem.
hk ppl want to finish everything as fast as possible, even in learning stargazing.
they may use a period shorter than eating a cup noodle to do that. (then they will think it is valuable)
facing the limitation, tutor hv to use some "fast" pointer.
their eyes even hvn't adapt (or ppl not willing) a darker enviroment.

also, thank for ur kindest suggestion.
i will try this for a safer and clearer sky later.
