Hi,
Another Comet Holmes image captured yesterday evening with Tang at Tai Mo Shan through Vixen ED115S + original 0.675x reducer + unmodded 350D @iso800 RAW. Total 8x30s ungided with SXD.
Just simple processing in PS with Level & Curve stretching on stacked images.
Cloud kept forming in the sky area over hill top and rolling in the imaging area. Luckly, the Mountain God left the polaris area a hole for me to do polar alignment of the mount and a window near the comet vicinity to allow imaging for just about 5 minutes. After then, no chance any more.
I was so sorry to Tang for using up all the imaging time and window. When Tang changes his CF card into my 350D body for imaging, the cloud was forming more and more. I advised him to try imaging even some thin cloud covering the comet. If he didn't do so and kept waiting for the sky clearing up, I think he couldn't capture any one. Though his one was not so of quality, he could still capture Holmes.
Until 11:00 pm, the sky was fully covered. So, we decided to leave.
Though frustrated with the sky condition, it is still batter than none with this time of comet chasing.
Amendment to the photographic data of Tang's Holmes image:
Vixen ED115S + 0.675x reducer + unmodded 350D @iso800 Jpeg, 30s unguided.
Effective focal length =600 mm
Any comments are welcome.
