For telescopes with a 2" focuser, the increase in brightness is quite significant!

I would guess 1.25" focuser is good for regular CCD chip size only. For the larger CMOS chip in EOS450 (22 x 14 mm ?) , 1.25" might be too narrow for the FOV.  Have you compare standard M42 (1.6") opening ?

I don't have something in between 2" and 1.25", either 2" unobstructed or 1.25" to T-thread.

Perhaps to adhere a "42-mm opening paper mark" inside the 2-inch focuser and try the experiment.
