I came across a shop in Golden Arcade, and saw this lens (they called it a lens for film cameras) from Sigma. The optics is in good condition and I bought it.
I tried it with my Canon 300D and it gave an error 99 at bright objects, but worked Ok when I point it at very dark location (when the camera indicated a f/2.8)
I search the web and find out this is because the old Sigma lenses for EOS has the non-compatible firmware with real EOS. It simple cannot communicate with the EOS command for closing the aperture. Apart from this the len is fine. I surely will not need to close the aperture when shooting the stars!
But now I need to find a lens hood of 82-mm diameter!
I don't have much experience with Sigma lenses. I get this because it is so cheap!
By the way, I've made a lens hood out of a plastic beaker (~500 ml size).
