SMS: Hubble data cost 是一個有趣的比較。現在的 PC 硬盤起碼過百 G 容量，都係賣幾百蚊, 不計其他只論 dollar per byte,  HD 仍然是最平吧 ?

個人對個人的通訊，我未試過 SMS，通常都係direct call 或 leave message。我也想起一則「太空筆」的啟示

初次買儀器觀星，不需要買貴價複雜的。簡單的型號往往令用者嘗盡酸甜苦辣，獲得貴價器材提供不到的「寶貴經驗」，用過一段日子，有了基礎再找高級器材更會得心應手。同好 Eric 說他初學時也不是一步登天，他是由書局賣的Tatsco 平價望遠鏡磨練出來的，信焉。

SMS 這個例子其實很奇怪... 一般人都會覺得太空科技最貴, 無 economy of scale, 又太過 high tech... 誰不知咁有 economy of scale 既  low tech 中既 low tech 既 SMS 竟然係最貴!

很同意用 cheap 野可以操技術既講法! 坊間流行 "一步到位" 既講法, 最後儀器先決既人多

Think about it, why could a bottle of water fetch HK $8 in a 7-11?

The cost of drilling a barrel of oil in Middle East is about US$1, but why could they sell it for $120?

Businessmen always try to sell a product at the highest price that consumer is willing to bear.

But as consumer, most of the time we do have a choice. You could carry your own water bottle. As to me, I rarely use SMS.
