Hi,
Though late by one week since it was taken, I think it is still worth posting here for sharing.
Taken at the midnight of Oct 26th with VMC260L at its prime focal length = 3000mm and Canon unmodded 350D. That is a stack of 16 4-sec subs.
Because of the low transparency, nearly no background star was captured in the frame. So, DSS failed to stack the frames in one step. Then I returned to use Registax 3.0 to do the job but very painful too. The contrast at the nucleus and its vicinity is quite low and so Registax cannot stack a series of frames successfully. So, I have to use 2 frames for stacking each time!
Not too much processing on it after stacking, just a very little Level and Curve stretching for darker background and brightening the outer coma. About 27% crop and then 67% resized.
I am happy with this final image because it is seemed I can see the short tail including the ion tail at one o'clock direction. Also, I can see some jets from the nucleus. I am not 100% sure and it is maybe just an illusion.
Thanks for looking.
