[size=13.3333px]Discovered by: Koichi Itagaki (Yamagata, Japan) (reported to CBAT
[size=13.3333px]via S. Nakano (Teppo-cho, Yamagata, Japan))

[size=13.3333px]Discovery magnitude: 10.7 unfiltered CCD, using 180-mm f/4.0 lens

[size=13.3333px]Discovery date: 2016 October 20.383 UT

[size=13.3333px]Spectra: Spectroscopy indicating that TCP J18102829-2729590 is a
[size=13.3333px]classical nova in the early optically thick stage was obtained 2016
[size=13.3333px]Oct. 20 UT by P. Lukas (International Centre for Radio Astronomy
[size=13.3333px]Research, Univ. Western Australia; ARAS Group) (ATel #9658; note
[size=13.3333px]that the date is given there as Oct 10.24, but the spectrum image
[size=13.3333px]shows Oct. 20). His spectrum, uncorrected for instrument response,
[size=13.3333px]may be seen at

[size=13.3333px]Observing recommendations: Observations of all types (visual, CCD,
[size=13.3333px]DSLR, spectroscopy) and all bands as instrumentation permits are
[size=13.3333px]strongly encouraged as the nova evolves.

[size=13.3333px]Initial Gaia Source List stars (of 20 mag) less than 1" from the
[size=13.3333px]reported position of the nova.
