Dear Yue,
I am wondering why you need to set the camera to slow4. That is 8-frame integration, reducing the temporal resolution to 1/3 seconds. The star should be too bright at this setting, even though you are using a smaller telescope.
At Hokoon, I was even tempted to set the exposure to 1/125 second. At this setting, the star was still visible, but was affected too much by the seeing. I thus decided to set the exposure at 1/60 second, as I could just record at 30 fps, there is no point to set a shorter shutter speed.
We were a bit lucky. When we pointed the telescope towards the star, it is lower than the roof of the building to the east. When we fine-slew it southwards, and saw Mars shining just about 2 degrees clear of the white wall, our worries were over.
