If you enjoy the TV series "Heroes", here is the discussion.
prerequisite info: (basically Heroes follows the real world history)

In the last episode of season 1, volume 1, Hiro (main cast) time-travelled back to ancient Japan (accidentally?) and meet Kensei in a battlefield where there was a total solar eclipse. And the rest is the story playing with our known real world history.
However, I checked that all the solar eclipse are partial in the year 1671:

To those keen TV fans, why choose the year 1671 by the author? I don't know if the author make in-depth research on solar eclipse, or, as quoted, that solar eclipse is just some symbolic meaning instead?
