Seeing Saturn's ring

Planet images are always sharp when seeing is good, unlike the poor image that you posted.  But the color saturation is much more subtle.

I don't often go to Shui Hau these years, since my focus was shift to solar observation which is virtually the same for any places.

If the atmospheric condition is good, even a 76 - 80 mm refractor can show you a view better than the "OK" view and similar to the "Good" view less than colour saturation.  The colour is obvious but more subtle than that show in the photo.

If you just watch the moon and planets, then you can just watch in urban area. Roof top or a quiet road with a clear view of the sky is good enough, even with streetlights around.

Thanks Guys! At the moment I only have a binocular, which means general observations can be done. I enjoy dark & clear sky. Those photos shoot by amateurs are my models & aims. I will try to learn the skill steps by steps. Apart from the knowledge, I need to buy appropriate equipments in order to progress. That’s why I need to ask questions.

Indoor imaging is fun indeed, the best thing is that you can do continuous observation without major investment on time.
