Griffith Observatory
The Griffith Observatory is mostly a Planetarium (2 sky theatres) and public observatory. On the left of the main dome is a smaller dome that houses the historic 12-inch Zeiss refractor (made in 1930).In the dome on the right, a 2-mirror coelostat brings Sunlight down to feed a solar telescope, allowing visitors to view a solar spectrum and a H-alpha solar image.
