Galaxy Zoo news

Dear Galaxy Zoo

We're very happy to report that all of your efforts on http://www.galaxyzoo.org have produced scientific fruit. Karen Masters and her team from Portsmouth have submitted the first paper using Zoo
2 data to the journal. The good news is that the results are as accurate as we've come to expect from you all, but that doesn't mean you can all relax just yet.

Firstly, we have a queue of new images of galaxies waiting for you, which will take you deeper into the Universe than ever before. Before we can release them, though, we need to polish off the last few remaining classifications from Galaxy Zoo 2. If you have time to go to http://www.galaxyzoo.org and make just a few extra clicks, it will help enormously.

Secondly, as we're at the stage where we're about to publish papers from Zoo 2 we need to make sure we give you, our coauthors and collaborators, proper credit. We'll be creating a list of people which will be linked from the author list of any Zoo 2 paper. If you want to be included, you need to make sure you've filled in the 'Name' in your profile. You can check this here :

Thanks again for all your clicks; you're making science possible and helping us learn more about the Universe every time you visit the site.

Chris and the Galaxy Zoo team
