For me, it is Komeiku, I think ~3000+m. Weather wasn't perfect at that time, so I did not had a big wow feel at the time...
Also tried at Mt Everest base camp and Lake Namuchu (~5200m). Unfortunately weather did not cooperate during my few nights there...
I always wonder what it is like star gazing or astrophoto at 5000+m. I am very eager to try out (somewhere in Tibet) around this summer if I can find someone crazy enough to join. I plan to lug my EM-200, 600/4 lens etc for such a trip. For those who had done it before, I am very interested to hear your experiences!
If astrophoto at very high altitude is really worth the effort, I wonder if it is possible to setup a remote private observatory there... |
