Bright Transient in Sco (PNV J17032620-3504140)
Patrick Schmeer (SPK, Bischmisheim, Germany) reports theannouncement on the CBAT Transient Object Confirmation Page (TOCP) of thediscovery of a bright transient in Sco on 2015 February11.8367 UT at unfiltered CCD magnitude 8.2 by TadashiKojima (Gunma-ken, Japan) using a 150-mm f/2.8 lens + a digital camera. Kojima reports nothing is visible on a frame from thesame camera on Feb. 10.827 UT.
The object was designated PNV J17032620-3504140 on theTOCP page.This information and any additional reports may be foundon the TOCP follow-up page at:http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/unconf/followups/J17032620-3504140.html
Photometry and spectroscopy are requested to confirm theobject and determine its nature.
Coordinates: R.A. 17 03 26.20 Decl. -35 04 14.0(J2000.0) A subsequent report gives positionend figures 26.11s, 17.6" +/- 5" measured from Kojima's frame (Red plain); the image maybe seen at http://www.oaa.gr.jp/~oaacs/image/PnovaSco.jpg.
